Old window, new view...

I just love decorating old windows.
They can be found very cheap and they have so much character to them.
I was given one by a dear friend who owns a little resale/junk shop here in town.
I decided to give it a new life in my newly painted kitchen.

I have been collecting old kitchen utensils for some time now and just never had a way to display them. I added a shelf to the window along with some appliques I found at Hobby Lobby. I painted it an antique white and then distressed it a bit.

I added a burlap coffee sack to the back and some of my antique dishes. I am not sure if I am going to paint that piece of wood here in the front. What would you do??
Over all I really like how it came out and it really filled a vacant wall in the kitchen.
I have finished the kitchen and that my friends will be the next post.
Let me know what you think...should I paint the appliques and bottom board or leave them just the way they are...hhmmm...I really am not sure!!
Ta ta for now ...

You know, I really like that rustic piece of wood not painted...maybe live with it for a bit and decide on the paint later. Overall, this is awesome. Love it!

My mom would certainly love doing this as her new pastime. She's very fond of doing crafts to while away the time, and she's got a very creative mind too. I'm going to show this to her and ask her if she can make me one for my room!
